The first planting of the Friends of Trees 2006-07 planting season is at Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge on Sat., Oct., 14, and the first neighborhood planting in Portland is in the Sellwood-Moreland neighborhood on Nov. 11. Friends of Trees will host its first Fun Run for Restoration, a 5-mile run and 3.5-mile walk, on Sunday, Oct. 8th, beginning at Oaks Amusement Park, 7100 Oaks Park Way. Registration is at 8:30am., the run starts at 9am. The Fun Run for Restoration is sponsored by the Nike Factory Store.

Let’s Plant some trees in Lake Oswego!!
My name is Matt Weatherly, and it is the beginning of a new tree planting season.
November 4th, SOLV’s Team Up program at Carter Creek in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Working from 9:00 to 12:00 and all tools, gloves and supplies will be provided.
Thursday, November 9th, Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge, 9 am to noon. Walk with Mike Houck from the north end of Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge around the 160-acre wetlands. Mike has led tours at the Bottoms for over 30 years and is intimately familiar with the history of Oaks Bottom being designated as Portland’s first official urban wildlife refuge and current efforts to restore fish and wildlife habitat throughout the refuge. Free.
