Saturday, April 28th from 9am to 1pm is SOLV IT, one of the largest Earth Day events in the nation. We have over 100 project sites in the Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, Columbia, Yamhill, and Clark counties. Activities include cleaning up illegal dumpsites, watershed restoration, invasive plant removal, litter removal, and neighborhood beautification. Last year, nearly 4,000 volunteers came together and recycled or disposed of over 500,000 pounds of litter, mixed waste, green waste, tires, scrap metal and invasive plants. This year, on April 28th, join SOLV and thousands of volunteers who will come to do our part of giving back to the Earth and celebrating all that it provides us. For more information, and to register go to http://www.solv.org/programs/solv_it.asp, or contact Brett Lyon at 503-844-9571 or brett@solv.org. This year volunteers can step up their Earth Day commitment and win fantastic prizes by taking the SOLV Challenge! Go to http://www.solv.org/ to learn more.
