Oregon Wild Summer 2008

Visit the places you want to see with the people who know them best!

Enjoy Oregon’s wilderness gems and old-growth forests this summer. The free and guided hikes, campouts and fishing trips start on June 21st and run through September 21st. Many outings will take groups to proposed wilderness in the Lewis and Clark Mount Hood Wilderness Area. We’ll provide participants an opportunity to learn more and take action in the campaign to protect Oregon’s wild places. Whether you are looking for a short family friendly hike, or a more rugged trek to an amazing vista or waterfall, we have a hike planned for you!

Be Inspired...Mark your calendar for Columbia Springs' 2008 Earth-friendly Garden Tour! Sunday, July 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Earth-friendly Garden Tour, offered in partnership with Clark County Solid Waste Program, is an opportunity for Clark County residents to be inspired by local gardeners who use natural gardening techniques. Earth-friendly gardens are healthier for children, pets, wildlife and our rivers and streams.

The ReBuilding Center of Our United Villages invites you to attend the grand unveiling of a community art sculpture called The Community Trees. Located in the Community Gathering Space on Mississippi Avenue, the three-story sculpture features cob tree trunks topped with branches and leaves crafted from reclaimed metal and household objects donated by community members.
