The first law of thermodynamics states: "In all physical and chemical changes energy is neither created nor destroyed, but may be converted from one form to another."

This is a great fundamental universal law to keep in mind as we go through our daily lives. It serves to remind us how connected we all are, from the daddy long legs crawling up the patio stairs to the freshly planted sunflower. It also serves to remind that what we do to the natural world around us and what we throw away does not just "go away". The atoms holding you and I together come from an infiinite variety of sources and are recycled over and over...Your form has been here forever. Wow, how smart you must be!
