The fifth annual symposium hosted by the Urban Ecosystem Research Consortium will be held on Monday, January 22, 2007 at Portland State University.  This event will provide a special opportunity for the Portland/Vancouver community to network and exchange information about environmentally-focused research, projects and programs.  The call for abstracts is now open through Friday, October 27, 2006 (extended).  Fields of interest include the biological, chemical and physical sciences, land use planning, habitat management and restoration, education and the social sciences.  Abstracts for presentations, posters, or simply to publish in the proceedings will be accepted.  An on-line submittal form is available at http://www.esr.pdx.edu/uerc/.
