Tired of high gas prices? Concerned about global warming and dwindling fossil fuel supplies? There are alternatives to driving!
Please join the Sierra Club on Friday, October 13th at 7 PM as we discuss alternative transportation options that will get you out of your car. We’ll show a couple of short films and then discuss transportation options in the Portland area.
The films: ZigZag: Real Stories, New Angles explores how transportation affects the daily lives of people who live in urban, suburban and rural areas in Oregon. The film follows four families or individuals throughout their daily comings and goings -- whether by car, bike, bus, train or foot.
Lessons from Portland: The Mt. Hood Freeway Defeat shows how Portland might have been different if community members did not halt construction of the Mt. Hood freeway through the heart of SE Portland in the 1970s.
Snacks and beverages will be provided.
