Earthen Plaster Workshop with Joshua Klyber

3-parts: April 14th, 15th, & 21st, 10am-5pm

Come learn this efficient and effective natural building technique using clay, water, sand, and straw. Earthen plaster is a sustainable method of building, insulating, and creating sculptured surfaces for almost any wall. This technology has been used in third world countries and has been adapted to our climate. Come and join us in the mud as we plaster our new composting toilet structure. Joshua Klyber is a professional, local natural builder with years of experience. Come for one, two or three days. Subjects for each day: Day 1, 4/14: soil ID, mix and application of base coat. Day 2, 4/15: advanced technique of the leveling coat which creates flat, even walls. Day 3, 4/21: intro to variety of finish plasters.

10 participant max.

Fee: $30 per day, $75 for all three days.
