“Sedges have edges” starts the ditty to help identify non-showy flowering plants. Further your acquaintance with the notoriously complex genus Carex by keying selected sedges in the lab Thursday while discussing their morphology, habitat, biology, and conservation. Find and identify sedges on Eight Dollar Mountain and along Josephine Creek Friday. A key will be provided for this technical course.
