Straw Bale workshop in SE Portland August 1st thru the 9th.
Ever wanted to build your own ecological and affordable home? Join us for this hands-on workshop that takes your from the foundation to the roof on a 200sqft load bearing straw bale studio. It is an excellent workshop for the novice and the contractor alike. We will be covering the basics of design, earth bag foundations, straw bale installation, some carpentry, light straw clay infill, earthen plasters and earthen floors. And it only costs $500!!
Workshop runs from 9am till 6 pm each day and a vegetarian lunch is provided.
If you can only come for a the weekend or a few days at a time we have special drop in rates.
