The August 18 PPG meeting will be at Raevyn Carney's Nemeton Farm.

Work party at 4:00 (or earlier if you wish), Potluck at 6:00, Tour at 7:00.

Here's Raevyn's description of her farm, and directions:

Nemeton Farm is an acre and a half mini permaculture farm 20 minutes from downtown Portland. It's home to 6 angora and cashmere goats and their guard llama, 8 laying hens and a rooster, and four ducks, along with pet dogs and cats and lots of wildlife. There's approximately 3/4 acre in pasture, 1/4 acre native area with a seasonal creek, and the rest is planted with lots of food and herbs, both culinary and medicinal. There's currently just one human living here, me. There's also a chemical free hot tub and a lovely ritual circle. I hope to add a greywater pond and a labyrinth in the future. Formerly nothing but grass and 10 foot high blackberries, it's a good example of what one person and some goats can do in four years. It's an ever-evolving work in progress.

Please come for a work party before the meeting. We can officially start work at 4, although Raevyn will be out working before that if anyone wants to join her. The address is 8030 SE Barbara Welch Rd, 97236. Take Foster East towards Gresham, to around 145th. There is a whole lot of construction on Foster immediately before the turn. Go right on Barbara Welch and go 1.1 miles. It will be on the left shortly after the hill levels out. Look for the picket fence. You can park in the grass out front or along the driveway. There is a bus that comes fairly close on Clatsop, although there is little shoulder, so please be careful walking. Please contact the list to arrange carpools.
