Osborn Creek Tree Planting Sat. Oct 4, 2008Submitted by info@solv.org on Fri, 09/19/2008 - 08:11.
10/11/2008 - 09:00 10/11/2008 - 12:00 Plant Trees and help restore the Osborn Creek watershed in Fairview at SOLV’s Team Up For Watershed Health site as part of the Intel-SOLV Clean and Green project on Saturday, October 11. Plantings start at 9 am and end by 12 pm. Osborn Creek is one of the few spring-fed tributaries of the Columbia Slough. Development has encroached on the riparian - stream corridor helping the spread of non-native invasive plants including: English ivy, Himalayan blackberry, and Purple nightshade. There are numerous large Western red Cedar and Douglas fir as well as Black cottonwood trees nearby and beaver have been active at this site. It has great potential as a source of cool, clean water for the Slough. Project Partners include the City of Fairview, Metro’s Nature in the Neighborhoods program, and the Columbia Slough Watershed Council who will have a representative at the site to talk about their work in the area and the unique attributes of the Columbia Slough Watershed. For more information and to register visit the Intel-SOLV Clean and Green Project webpage, http://www.solv.org/programs/clean_and_green.asp or call Brett Lyon at 503-844-9571 x 332. Event information is found at the very bottom of the page. Put on your boots, grab a shovel, and come dig in! We hope to see you out in your watershed! Location
