~ October Harvesting Parties ~

Harvesting Parties are open to anyone, and filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Please sign up for Harvesting Parties in your area of residence, and only sign up if you can be for there for the entire time. Meeting location and other details will be provided after you sign up.
We ask for a sliding-scale donation of $5-$15 from each participant, except those living on low incomes.

October Harvesting Party Schedule:
Saturday, Oct 4th, 10am-12:30pm, SE Portland
Saturday, Oct 11th, 10am-12:30pm, NW Portland
Saturday, Oct 18th, 10am-12:30pm, Northeast Portland                     
Saturday, Oct 25th, 10am-12:30pm, North Portland


How To Sign Up:
Please send an email to info@portlandfruit.org with "Harvest Party Sign-up 10/4 (or the date you'd like to participate)" in the subject line.
Please include the following information in the body of the email:
We will send you the meeting location and other details after you sign up.

1) Your full name
2) Which date you would like to participate
3) Email address
4) Phone number
5) Quadrant & Neighborhood of residence (eg: NE Portland, Cully neighborhood)
6) Are you living on a low-income? (We reserve slots in each event for low-income individuals)
Answer Yes if your household's income is less than the following. Otherwise, please answer No.

Wednesday, Oct 22nd, 6:00-8:30pm
Food Preservation Workshop in NE Portland
Cost: Sliding-scale $10-$30 per participant.
Payment is optional for those living on low incomes.

~ Eat Soup! A delicious way to support the PFTP ~

This Saturday, Oct 4th, Zuppa Soup Company will donate 10% of their sales at the Farmers Market to the Portland Fruit Tree Project.  
Enjoy Simon's tasty soup, and support the PFTP at the same time!

The Details:
What: Zuppa Soup 10% day to benefit the Portland Fruit Tree Project
Where: Portland Farmers Market, in the South Park Blocks between SW Harrison & Montgomery
When: This Saturday, October 4th, 8:30am-2:00pm
Why: For the love of soup and the PFTP. What a combo!

~ Group Harvests ~

Our Group Harvests program is off to a great start!
In September we had our first group harvesting party and canning workshop with El Programa Hispano, which was a great success.
In October, we are partnering with the following organizations to coordinate group harvesting parties and canning workshops with their clients.
Mt.Scott High School
Raphael House of Portland
Portland Impact
The Group Harvests program works with community partners to arrange harvesting parties with organized groups of low-income individuals. If your organization is interested in arranging a group harvest, please contact katy@portlandfruit.org
