Last SOLV Planting of the season this weekend in Estacada!
Plant Trees and help restore CurranCreek watershed in Estacada at SOLV’s Team Up For Watershed Health site on Saturday, March 27th. Plantings start at 9 am, end by 12 pm and SOLV provides tools and gloves. By planting native trees and shrubs, volunteers will be lowering stream temperatures and creating an ecosystem that will filter polluted stormwater runoff, improve water quality in this popular recreation area, provide better habitat for wildlife, and be more resilient to climate change.
Curran Creek has been overrun with Himalayan blackberry, teasel, and other invasive plants. SOLV has been working in Estacada for the past two years in conjunction Pacific Habitat Services and Estacada High school. Volunteers will be planting in this area, continuing the good work of the students at Estacada High School.
