Neighborhood coordinators are key volunteers that help to catalyze a neighborhood and get homeowners interested in planting with FOT.

Training will prepare people for the next planting season, November 2006-April 2007.

Each year, Tree Team volunteers monitor the health of newly planted street trees. Volunteers are trained to identify problems with tree care and maintenance. Each volunteer is assigned a neighborhood route where trees have been planted during the past year. Each tree's health is inspected: Is it receiving enough water? Has its bark been scarred by lawnmowers or car doors? Is the ground around it properly weeded and mulched? Is the tree healthy and free of diseases and pests? Volunteers leave door-hangers for homeowners, congratulating them for taking good care of their new trees and identifying ways they can help to improve their trees' health.

Information: NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! Individuals do NOT need to pre-register. Groups are asked to sign up by e-mailing the Volunteer Database Coordinator with the group's contact information, event name and date, and the number of youth and/or adults registering. Groups are required to have one adult volunteer for every three to four youth volunteers. Tools and guidance will be provided. Sturdy shoes, long pants and long sleeves recommended!

Directions: From Portland, take I-5 south to exit 292 (OR-217/Kruse Way) towards Lake Oswego. Turn left on Kruse Way and then take a slight right on SW Bangy Road just after crossing over I-5. After less than 1/2 mile, turn right onto Bonita Road. After crossing SW 72nd Road and railroad tracks, turn right on SW Milton Court. The park will be on the left. Look for the "Tree Planters at Work" sign. Individuals do NOT need to pre-register. Located along the Willamette River, this site lacks adequate riparian forest canopy and has been invaded by non-native weeds. Join us as we replace these non-native invasive plants with native trees and shrubs and improve the health of this riparian ecosystem. Directions: Memorial Park is at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Cumberlin Drive. From Portland, take I-5 S to Exit 283 (Wilsonville Road). At end of exit ramp, turn Left (East) onto Wilsonville Road. Follow Wilsonville Road for a half mile to Memorial Drive (across from City Hall). Turn right onto Memorial Drive and left into Memorial Park. Continue to the parking lot and turn left through gated road at bottom of the hill. We will meet at the end of the road by the covered picnic tables.

Earth Day planting!

Help restore the Tualatin River Wildlife Refuge. This will be the last planting in the refuge before it opens to the public. See the area before anyone else.

No experience necessary! Tools and training provided. Friends, family are encouraged to attend. Plantings occur rain or shine – dress appropriately!! Turn right onto Tualatin-Sherwood Rd/Roy Rogers Rd. Continue 1.4 miles and turn right at "Tree Planters at Work" sign.
