The First Lady has been diagnosed with cancer
Jill Biden, the First Lady of the United States, has been told that she has cancer. The wife of the President of the United States, who is 71 years old, has previously had surgery.
Her press secretary, Vanessa Valdivia, was the one who broke the news to the public by tweeting out a link to a medical report detailing the outcomes of the treatment.
When the lumps on Jill Biden’s breast and right eye were looked at, it was found that they were caused by basal cell carcinoma. At this point, they are no longer in the running.
A closer look is taken at the third growth on the left eyelid.
Quick medical assistance
At Bethesda, Maryland, which is located in the state of Maryland, the surgery was carried out at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
After spending close to nine hours in the hospital with his wife, Joe Biden went back to the White House by himself after leaving the facility. Jill quickly made her way back to the administration, reporting that she was “feeling terrific and in high spirits.” Despite the fact that she had “some swelling of the face and bruising,” she was nonetheless arrested.
It is generally agreed that basal cell carcinoma is very curable, particularly if it is discovered at an early stage. It spreads slowly and is typically contained to the surface of the skin, making it easy to eliminate in its entirety because of these factors.
A test for skin cancer that is performed on a regular basis uncovered the carcinoma on January 4. “As a precaution,” the doctors advised removing the lesion that was located over the patient’s right eye.
The First Lady: Jill Biden
Jill Tracy Biden was born in the United States on June 3, 1951. She is the wife of Vice President Joe Biden and has been the first lady of the United States since 2021. She served as the U.S. second lady during her husband’s tenure as vice president (2009–2017). Former Vice President Joe Biden has taught English at Northern Virginia Community College since 2009. She is thought to be the first wife of a vice president or president to work while her husband was in office.
Jill Biden holds a Ph.D. in education from the University of Delaware in addition to a bachelor’s degree in English from the same institution, a master’s degree in English from West Chester University, and a master’s degree in education from Villanova University. She taught English and reading in high schools for 13 years. During that time, she also taught teens with emotional problems at a psychiatric hospital. Then, she taught English and writing at Delaware Technical and Community College for 15 years.
Jill Biden was born in Hammonton, NJ, but she grew up in Willow Grove, PA. In 1977, she married Joe Biden and became the stepmother of his two sons from his first marriage, Beau and Hunter. Ashley Biden, who was born in 1981, is Biden’s daughter with her husband. She started the non-profit Biden Breast Health Initiative, helped start the Book Buddies program, started the Biden Foundation, works with Delaware Boots on the Ground, and started Joining Forces with Michelle Obama. She has written a memoir and two books for kids.
Role in the 2008 presidential campaign
Even though she opposed the Iraq War, she did not want her husband to run for president in 2004. She did not want him to run so much that she walked into a meeting about it wearing a swimsuit with the word “no” written on her stomach. But after George W. Bush was re-elected president in 2004, she urged her husband to run again. She later said, “I wore black for a week. I just couldn’t believe that he won, because I thought things were already so bad. I was so against going to war with Iraq. I told Joe, “You need to change this. You need to change this.”
During Joe Biden‘s failed run for the Democratic nomination for president in 2008, she kept teaching during the week and joined him on the weekends to campaign. She said that if she had been the first lady, she would have been an activist for education, which was her main concern. She also said she wouldn’t try to be invited to Cabinet meetings, and “I say I’m apolitical, if that’s even possible after being married to Joe for 30 years.”
Once her husband was chosen as Barack Obama’s running mate, she started campaigning again. In honor of Beau Biden’s deployment to Iraq, she wore a Blue Star Mothers Club pin. She wasn’t a great political speaker, but she was able to connect with the people in the room. She also showed up with Michelle Obama in some places. During the fall 2008 semester, Jill Biden taught four days a week at Delaware Technical and Community College while her husband ran for vice president. She also graded papers on the campaign bus while her husband campaigned over the long weekend.
